Spirulina in cooking

Spirulina in cooking

You may be wondering how to consume spirulina in powder or flake form? Or how to use spirulina in cooking? It can be taken like a dietary supplement, with a little water, blended into a juice, or sprinkled onto your plate. Plein’R’s Spiruline-Valais has little taste, so you probably won’t have any difficulty consuming it this way.

However, it can also be incorporated into a recipe as an ingredient in its own right. It will add a bit of crunch and colour to your dishes!

To make the most of spirulina’s benefits, it is best not to cook it: this way it keeps all its nutrients and you can enjoy yourself while taking care of your health. However, it can be eaten in sweet or savoury dishes, raw or very lightly cooked. Choose how to cook it according to your preferences!

Our tip : consume it in the morning at breakfast. You can add it to your yoghurt with oat flakes and fruit, or blend it into your fruit juice. This small daily gesture will let you start your day in the best possible way and, above all, be consistent in taking spirulina if you wish to follow a course.

Of course, spirulina can also be eaten occasionally and added to a hummus, a risotto, pasta, an omelette, a dessert, a smoothie or even a salad.

Spirulina also lends itself well to making snacks for teatime. In fact, we have decided to share our favourite recipe with you, tested and immediately adopted by our team: Spirulina energy balls
